Evening all,

I have had two RC planes in my life (25yrs) and got rid of the last one 2 years ago.

Now however, I feel like giving helis a go. Popped in my local model shop (marionville models) and got talking away as you do. Left with a RealityCraft RC Heli Master Flight Simulator which I have been messing about on for 2 days now.

My plan is to buy a heli in two weeks time, this way I have time to practice on the sim first! I a looking to buy the Thunder Tiger Mini Titan E325 3D RC Radio Control Helicopter - Super Combo - ARTF.

Anyone have any views on these? Any tips for a complete beginner. My first flgiht will probally be in a big barn, so wind/drafts shouldnt be an issue!

Hi Craig, you wont go wrong with the mini titan, they are very good flyers.

Even with all the advances in the industry I would still say the raptor 30 is still the most user friendly and well supported model available at the moment , ie all model shops in Scotland stock the basics. Also trex 500 would be a good choice, enjoy making your purchase and all the best, what club are you going to join.

Thats good news!!!

Club... havn't really thought of that yet. Might wait until i am semi decent first before making an appearence.

Where is the nearest to Edinburgh? I live just across the road from the Cramond Brig on the A90, so anywhere west is very accesible!

Cheers

Hi Graig and welcome
First of I think joining a club that understands and helps new heli flyers is essential to learning to fly. Even just getting the model setup and flying can be an impossible task if you don't know how it should fly.

The mini Titan is a great small model but look around the Internet for the best prices as your local may not be your cheapest.

If your interested why not pop out to Falkirk Club next Sunday before you make you purchase and discuss your options.
