Hi Alex..I've close on two gallons through but the motor had to be dropped as the hyper needed a new rear bearing. Sad Hence the lack of photo's.
I'll try and get some up tomorrow

For those of you who don't know this heli has some really attractive features. It ticks all the right boxes for me. Jason Krause designed it for Align from the ground up..It's kinda like a mini N9 Synergy

The pro version

Two piece Non stacked frameset in Carbon. Main shaft has 3 bearing support. Big auto hub. Big clutch and matching one way bearing 10mm I think?.
Massive pitch range +/-14 , as much cyclic pitch as you could wish for with very little binding even at extreme settings. Powerfull tail. Torque tube drive (no constant belt tensioning). CCPM for powerfull pitch cyclic control. Easily seen/serviced fuel tank.
Bell cranked tail servo linkasge (keeps servo up front for crash/oil protection) Most innovative radio tray I've seen to date, Pre-painted/laquered Glass canopy. 3D carbon fin set. Can drop the motor without removing baseplate & U/C. Highly efficent fan using a clamp on the motor crank to insure virtually no run out..comes with carbon tailblades, velcro straps & mounting pads for radio and even a fuel filter and clamp.

This thing is light!! a full 1lb lighter than my Raptor 50.. just a shade over 7lbs RTF Very Happy

It comes beautifully presented in the box and is an easy build..but do plan to mount your govner pickup before the servos..Oh and mount the magnets flush with the fan surface Wink . but hey I don't want to bore you with this stupid stuff!

Flying well what can I say ..It can be set from mild to wild. Nice stable hover, precise controls. Or blatently outrageous like mine. Laughing It looks a little smaller than say a Raptor in the air but you know straight away it's got class in flight. It starts, stops very sharply, rolls axially, It's not fussy in Fast FF, very powerfull tail and all straight from the box, no upgrades required.
At high headspeeds/ pitch/cyclic settings this thing rocks, a real thourghbred and makes just about any other heli look underpowered and over weight. This includes 90 class machines.. The change in direction than can be achieved is phenominial. No doubt about this one, the pilot is the limiting factor Shocked

This is definetely THE 50 (Or even THE heli) to take you to the next level in 3D flight, but at lower headspeeds it's just a little puddy-cat suitable for any level of flyer.

For those not looking for the totally ultimate 50 ride there is the standard version. Which will have G10 frame set, belt drive, plastic canopy, plastic fins at around the £250 mark around £100 less than the Pro model.

OK OK ...I know I can go on a bit Embarassed Embarassed

OK Alex heres some photos

Note:- Raptor clutch for comparision. Look at that large start shaft brg in the 600N Item..Fan on the Nitro sits inverted to aid airflow and to help prevent debris from clutch being ingested to engine. It's also approx 3/4" larger dia than rappy. Note the crank clamp similiar to a hyper hub on a Synergy

Engine mount area with motor & fan cowls removed. Engine drops through baseplate U/C without further dismanteling. You can see the top of the lop sided tank here, offers easy access to the clunk lines and you can get a visual on the overflow pipe whilst fuelling...nice layout

Plenty of room on the Radio tray..

Other side showing Revmax and Align 5.8v 6 amp regulator (my servo's are all 6v capable) except the tail where I fitted the Align inline voltage regulator which is tiny. The servo with the badge missing is the forward mounted tail servo.

R/H rear showing bellcrank for the tail pushrod. frame spacing is wider than the 600 electric version. nice rubber seals round tank to stop chaffing. Note the pre-pinned carbon boom stays. The gyro can be front or rear mounted depending on size. The CSM 720 needs to be on the rear mount. The rear most servo is the Elevator on the CCPM and is also push pull like all the other swash servos. The bell crank being between the frames. The frames have little slots to allow the wiring to be secured either inside/outside the frames.

Nice little carbon tail fin. boom clamp is plastic and needs to be fully tightened

Tail gearbox. Grips are thrust raced on a steel hub and fitted with the supplied Align 95mm carbon tails to give a powerfull and secure tail..but keep an eye on the single Hub grub screw.

Glass Canopy comes pre-drilled for grommets and it's very secure clip. The photo does not do the paint job justice..loverly

That fab rotorhead. +/- 14 easily attainable with gobs of cyclic roughly 10 deg! Virtually no binding. Note the beefed up mixing arms (ribs) stronger main Grips and flybar carrier cones to better support the flybar..well thought out.

Final picture is of clutch from below. see the large hub for the clutch bearing. That governer sensor is tight to fit requiring front servo removal. You can just see the large auto hub on the maingear and the pressure line going through the frames to the muffler.

If you would like further details and i'll see what I can do..Barney

Just a follow up to let you all know how the 600N is doing. I'm up at 5-1/2 gallons now.
I suspected the clutch clearance was a little large at the start (late engagement) and sure enough at the start of gallon 4 the clutch shoe let go.
I re-lined the clutch with less clearance and so far so good. Wink

I have also replaced the Plastic tail boom clamp with the Align upgrade (around £5) I'm pretty hard on my machines these days and really need to keep this part locked solid.

Head dampners.
I've found the head dampners (The black 3D ones) to wear pretty quickly with detectable movement starting in as little as 2-3 hard 3D flights. After around a couple gallons they were pretty loose. They still seemed to restrict the overall movement of the spindle and it does not effect any hovering etc but I felt by gallon 5 they were getting too sloppy for comfort.

This time with fresh dampners installed I added a MA shim each side to stiffen them up a little more. I got this tip from Andy at Real Raptors who also supplied the necessary shims. A downside of shimming like this is it does tend to create a wobble at low rotorspeeds and sure enough under 1700ish the wobble was there although I think with a few more flights under it's belt it will be OK. TBH this is generally not an issue for me as I mostly run it a fair bit higher.

Other stuff.. Fan & Magnets

There has been quite a lot of talk about warped fans but providing you don't overtorque the bolts this should not be a problem.

Fan magnets..MUST be fitted flush. Also you need to abrade the area well around the hole. The holesalso benefit from being drilled fully through, so just abrade both sides whilst your at it. The reason for this is it removes any remnants of the mold release agent from the fan.

OH! Also abrade the magnets themselves and be generious with the epoxy smearing a little over the fan around the holes to finish.

When you fit the motor make sure the fan cowls are pushed fully upwards and fitted as high as possible. Also there is a fair bit of movement on the motor to mount screws and I would also recommend you dont push the motor right up into the clutch bell but instead go middle of the road with the bolts. This will give plenty of clearance to prevent the magnets from being 'rubbed' out of the fan.

This thing flies just awesome and apart from some minor niggles is really impressive. I believe Align is already looking at the Clutch issue so it might be worth your while checking the clutch clearance should you get one as it may or may not be be addressed.

BTW No 2 Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy is now up and running with a MP5 fitted which seems a little quieter than the Hatori 522 on No1. Both seem pretty decent exhausts. Interestingly I just copied the model over directly in my TX and it only needed a couple clicks of Aileron trim..so I must be doing something right with my building these days Laughing Laughing Laughing

Mini Titan.. yup, why not - is that with or without the metal upgrades that are coming onto the market? The wee tit flys well but it don't look half as nice as the TREX v2...but it is half the price so we cant complain Laughing
