Hello,
I am trying to decide on my next project but it is quite hard to decide. I have been flying the shuttle plus for a long time now and I am interested in scale models.
My question is which one would be easier to fly ? I love the A109 but Vario's model does not have the retracts. And Graupner fuselage looks really attracting. with that much experience, do you guys think I am looking for trouble ?

Also would I have problems moving on to 4 bladed models ?

thanks for your help

Hi Baba,

I am just a the stage of trying to fly my Graupner Augusta A109 with Uni 2000 mechs. This is my first scale attempt and the only thing I find hard is just letting go with the Agusta. I keep thinking ££££'s if I crash. I have a Raptor 30 which I can FFF. loop, flip and nose in hover without any problems. The Graupner kit is good, the only fault with the kit or at least my one, the wood parts are supposed to be die cut but I had to cut every part out as the die had not cut all the way through the wood. If you go the Graupner way?, Use TG semi blades from Dave Wilshere at Motors & Rotors. Dave and his staff are very helpful if you have a problem. Also the guys here at Rotorwash are also helpful. You can also go to Scalerhelis.com, there you will gets lots of help with scale models. If you would like to see some pictures of my build up, just let me know and I'll e mail them to you.

Hey Flycop,
thanks for the advice. please tell me, how difficult is it to fly the graupner A109 ? have you tried the mechanic without the fuse first ??

can't wait to get mine. are building it 4 blades or with fly bar ??

by the way I would love to see some pics.

Do you know any internet site which sells graupner parts online ?

syalgin@yahoo.com

take care and happy landing with that Agusta Smile

Baba,

I find the fuselage quite difficult to fly, but it is probably just me being scared to crash a large investment. I did not try the mechanics in pod and boom form first. At the moment Graupner do not have a 4 blade head but I'm sure I read somewhere that one is planned in the near future. I don't know any site where you can buy Graupner online via a shopping cart type system. If you go to www.runryder.com and look in my gallery, there is some pictures of my Agusta. If you would like pictures of various stages of the mechanics build up. give me your e mail address and I'll send them. You can also get lots of help and advice from www.scalercheli.com

hi there! i don't know if your interested but you could fit an augusta109a onto your 30 shuttle (and it has retracts)lhc have well priced fun-key fus. i have a vario 222 and had the same problem with the internal wood. i just got an augusta 109a fuz for my 60 size raptor which is very good value. I think if anyone is looking toget into scale, Vario is the only option. The range of scale fuselages is enormous. Many other manufacturers who claim scale fuselages often are not so accurate.

It is disappointing that Vario's 109 is basically made for the REGA model as civilian 109 K2's are very hard to find. Anyone interested in scale can find loads of scheme's onthis site http://www.helispot.com/photos/

Let's face it, if you're into scale, you aint going to be doing loops etc are you?
