I've been doing research on r/c helicopters for use in the fire industry and have a few questions. While doing my research, I came across a site with a video of a r/c chinook and thought it would serve the purpose I needed it to with its versatility. However, it appears that they are pretty much in the development stages. Anyone know of a place that sells them? I am also wondering what the average distance range is on most helicopters and if the range can be increased with a more powerful transmitter. I know most are line-of-site, but seems to reason with more power, comes more distance. I am also looking for long range wireless cameras for use to mount on the helicopter. I'm sure this is a long shot, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

my first idea is ----
join a club
next
learn how to fly
then
increasing the transmitter power could cause more problems
of the top of my head IWT more chance of interference to/from other trans
-out of site out mind 'which way was I flying ?' etc
would the smoke/heat from a fire effect the engine of the heli
any heli with the right engine could carry a video camera so why a special ?
try a search on this site and runriders
