From the results of the poll "Do you think the SAA encourage helicopters"
there was nearly 80% of you think the SAA could do more to encourage helicopters in Scotland.
So my question to you all is what do you want to see from them?
I will reply since nobody else has In my opinion the SAA couldnt care less about helicopters and through conversations I have had with other people about the subject i dont think i'am wrong in my opinion. I did here a roumor once that the reason the SAA arent interested in helis is that there isnt enough of us. But again in my opinion we have as much right to comps and trophies as any other modeller, Not that I would win them

Hi,not sure if this is because I am a helie flyer or not,but heres a problem that I am having with the SAA.
4 weeks ago I posted off my membership fees for this year(usually pay to a SAA agent),after numerous emails to all contacts that are listed on the SAA website,I am still waiting for confirmation that my membership has been renewed.Am I covered by there insurance or am i not,who knows, noboby seems to be capable of sending a simple reply to confirm!!
This may explain it, received from Tom Laird via the SAA mail list.
It with great sadness that the Council of the SAA inform you that Stuart
Adams died on Monday. There will be an open funeral service on Wednesday
at Bellshill Salvation Army Hall, then a private cremation at Daldowie
Crematorium. We do not have any more details at present.
There is no doubt that Stuart will be greatly missed, not only for his
role as Membership Secretary, but also for all the other jobs he
undertook.
Ken is currently telephoning the Secretaries, and will be writing in due
course. If you have not heard from him then it is probably because his
list is not complete or up to date.
On the insurance front, please assume the following: if you have sent
renewal or application money to either your club secretary or to Stuart
then you are insured. If you have not sent money then you are not
insured. Please send all new applications/renewals to Ken McCormick at
the following address:

At the time of writing we do not know if the insurance cards have been
sent out, but we assume not. Therefore if you need proof of insurance to
fly outside of Scotland in the immediate future (Feb/March), please send
an SAE to Ken at the above address with a covering letter. We have
informed the BMFA so they can advise their CD's if necessary. They have
suggested that you keep your 2002 cards as proof of membership. Note
that we do not intend to issue cover letters to everyone at this time.
Obviously things will be a bit uncertain until for the immediate future,
so your patience and understanding will be appreciated.
