I'm sure all of you that attended last years will be coming along again.

Food will be available again this year, but so much better. which I’m sure those that came can vouch for that.

I'm normally a generious, quiet sort of chap and more than happy to contribute my fair share and more and do my utmost to support other clubs.. but you guys severely pissed me off.

Take note:- This was no Competition or Flying Display but supposed to be a friendly open club Fly-in.

I did a 380 ml round trip in apalling conditions..just to get there, taking well over 4hrs just to support you. £45

When I arrived the Tx pound was not exactly awash with Tx's but being a bit hardier than the average Heli Addict I booked in Paying my £1 entry fee regarless of whether I flew or not...
I then purchased two strips of raffle tickets £2..a hotdog £1.50, paid £2.. Had a 0.50p Coffee but paid £1.00.. Was collared to fly in a Schluter cup comp thingie.. another £2.00 which I never bothered or intended doing but hey its all for club funds anyway.

I flew one 8 min flight with the 600N.. then started talking models with a couple other visiting Pilots..Anyways as neither of them had seen the new Align 500, I offered to fetch it over from the car to let them have a look..
one was desperate to see it fly regardless of the weather..so eventually I relented..and fetched my backup Tx as its currently programmed into that.

Went over to Tx control.. ( Rolling Eyes just happened to be my Tx the guy was twiddling the stick on when I got there GRRRR.. )

Said to the chap I've already got a Tx booked in would it be ok to use this Tx for a flight.... NO, you need to pay a £1.00 to book it in ..EH!.

Then a committee guy? tries to Fob me off with.. if you book in 2 Tx's you pay for each...(thats a new one on me)

SOD THAT FOR A LARK... Its the Principal ...pure greediness just for the sake of it

At this point the Red Mist was about to decend.. so I collected my TX equipment and left for Waterfoot.

Why the F$%k should I be penalised for having two Tx's

Some Pilots had up to 3 models, paying once as the models were programed into ONE TX ..

Me..I do fly well..BUT only one model a time

Both my Tx's are on 2.4ghz no problem hogging frequencys.

Plus It wasn't like I was taking up two flying slots due to the weather as nobody was flying at that point anyway..

I could easily have collected No1 Tx and substituted it for the other without anyone knowing. but then I don't like to "bend" the rules

So Clydeview:- Your food and organisation are great BUT your certainly not as as accomdating as you would like to think and others on here percieve. Mad

I think the gents running tx control had taken a wrong turning , Guys the Angling club is at the top of the hill ,they didnt have a clue , spolied the day, hopefully get some better photos at cumbernauld if your down, I was too far away and the weather didnt help.

Did you get a flight at waterfoot?

hi there boo hoo a pound, there was not a charge for the schuluter cup thingy, there was 3 x25 pound trophies though .the guy in the pound was a new member , i don't think he is a member of the angling club. he was asked to take a pound for each transmitter and that's what he done, but the next time i see you i shall give you £2 for the tx,£2for the raffle and £2.50 for the really nice hot dog and coffee .sorry if you did not have a good day
I need to go and fly with my friends
THANKS TO EVERBODY HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE NEXT FLY IN

Boo Hoo Nothing... Shocked

I will repeat my self again..I have no issue with your food pricing etc..In fact the guys are to be congratulated on supplying a fine assortment of food throughout the day and event organisation was excellent. (as already pointed out )

What I have issue with is the discriminatory TX control policy that was being enforced in a dogmatic manner for having two Tx’s...nothing else. This to me was certainly not in the spirit of the event and I therefore decided I would go fly elsewhere.
I don’t give a nuts about the money.

I think there has been a huge misunderstanding here.

Firstly no-one asked for any money to take part in the fun-competition events, and no-one was forced to take part, however the club did purchase 3 in number £25 trophies to present to the winners of each category.

As it has been stated, the Tx pound at the time was being manned by a new member who had been told to take 1 pound per transmitter checked in. This is exactly what he did. Right or wrong in this case.

Every transmitter brought to an event needs to be logged in including the frequency(s) that will be used, especially if different transmitters & different frequencies may be used. This is for the welfare of all individuals who attend the event as well as to protect and preserve our model aircraft.
There was nothing wrong with the way that the transmitter pound was being run, safety is paramount and that is exactly where our priority lay.
You were not the only person who produced two transmitters that day and no-one else complained about 1 pound per Tx. (by the way I have attended local events who demanded £3 per Tx).

I believe you were approached by a committee member as you were about to depart, who wished to assess and rectify any problem you had, but you declined to explain the reason for leaving so abruptly!

Everybody makes a mistake at some point, We may have made one here and we will learn from it (even if it means a big sign that says £1 per Tx).
As you will appreciate it takes a fair bit of organisation and commitment to get an open-day/fun-fly off the ground, especially on one of the worst days of the year.

However, I must add, your reaction and account of events has been rather overdramatic.

I suggest we let bygones be bygones and try to get along, I will refund all of your monies spent on that day personally if need be.
Our hobby does not need this kind of internal animosity.

Yours Sincerely,

Kevin Edmondson.
C.V.M.H.C. Safety Officer.

STOP

Whilst I witnessed this happening and have my own opinion I will not discuss this on this forum.

I also appreciate guys joining my forum but please don't just to have a pop at someone.

We are a very small community in Scotland with a common interest that seem to get along don't ruin it please.

Bottom line If you want to continue take it elsewhere
