Hi Guys, Very Happy
I`m going to be taking up this hobby, hopefully in the near future, just waiting on word from a job !!!.
I have seen a couple of Raptors advertised on the net auctions @ £200ish, stating every thing needed to start flying, no crashes, hard landings, only used a couple of gallons, etc !!!
from what I`ve read so far the Raptor30 seems to be the best for newbies.
What kind of money should a newbie like myself payout @ the most for 2nd hand all inclusive (everything to get started), I would welcome any feedback from use guys with the knowlage and experience . Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

Regards
Jim. Confused

not the easiest of questions - for a basic Raptor 30 (V1) with engine and standard servos, ~200 is about right but you still have radio, starting gear etc. on top of that. UK shops charge <£600 new including a basic heli radio (Midland Helicopters, Revolution models etc). Try the classified pages of Model Helicopter World and RCM&E, or the sale section of Midland's, SAA or Skyline website to see what is available.

As always, I'd suggest getting someone to look it over and set it up for you first time to avoid expensive rotovation of the garden (+ buy training undercarriage)

probably get one for £50 exc servos, receiver etc It'll last you until you get into reasonable aeros - then you'll need one with 'proper' pitch & throttle curves - otherwise get a FF8 (discontinued), Hitec Eclipse, Sanwa 6000, JR (incomprehensible list of numbers that I can't be bothered understanding but I think they have to start with a '3').
