SL420 and JR X2610

I really need some help.
I have a Sceadu 50 with JR x2610 and SL420 Gyro. I have followed the assembly instructions but have a problem with the throttle where the servo still has travel even though the throttle arm is fully open.
My second problem is the gyro, when I connect it up the tail does not move atall. I suspect that it is something to do with the transmitter settings but cannot find the right page in the manual to sort things out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi
If all you linkages are set to 90 Deg its ok to adjust your ATV's to position your throttle correctly.

the easy way to setup your gyro if you have your gyro rudder in going to the receiver rudder output, connect the gyro servo cable to yes you've guessed it the tail servo. then plug your gyro gain lead into you gear channel on the receiver. set the ATV's for the gear channel to 80 each way (you need to toggle the switch to do the other side) and that should be a good starting point.

Hi Alex and thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly I live outside the UK but will be coming home to Stenhousemuir for three weeks in beginning of September. Can't bring the heli but could bring the transmitter and gyro if it could be set up by someone more experienced than me. I followed your instructions but no joy! The tail servo moves ok with the lead directly in to the receiver but no movement when the gyro is connected. All three lights are on on the gyro. As I said I think the problem is in the transmitter set up as the gyro instructions tell you to disable and inhibit a number of functions and I do not think I have did this correctly.

just to update. I followed your advice CORRECTLY this time and connected the gain lead to the gear channel on the receiver and not to the AUX! now everything seems to be ok.
On the throttle side I noticed that the throttle arm has two 5mm balls 180 degrees apart so I have connected to the botton one and after adjusting the rod ( longer ) and setting the low to 90 and the high to 85 I am getting full end to end movement at the carb, just hope it is in the right direction! Plan first flight on Friday.

Great now we are moving in the right direction.

On the CSM gyros they like to be set up correctly mechanically. What this means is if you can hover in rate mode with no rotating then you will have a well setup heli tail. If you cannt hover then please get some who can to help gey your model setup.

On the throttle most carbs open anti-clockwise looking from the linkage end. please check this and also keep a good hold of the head when you start your model.

Alex,
started the heli today and it is clear that some adjustments are required particularly to the carb as there is no rpm until mid-stick where the heli becomes light. At this point it also pitches to the right and left input makes this worse ( some servo reversing required ) On the bright side the tail is steady in mode 0 heading hold offand tracking of the main blades is spot on. Receiver chrystal came out and my hex starter broke. I have remounted the receiver on some foam and put a tie strap on to keep the crystal in place. Hex start is repaired. Will try again tomorrow!
Question, when I set up the transmitter I selected 3 servo 90 degree CCPM for the swash plate type, is this correct for a Sceadu 50?

It depends on the kit you got SWM or the mechanical mixing option.

If you have a SWM the select 3 servo 120 Deg option

or for the other select 1 servo

If you have it setup correctly when you increase only the throttle the swash plate should rise level, if this is not happening there is something wrong
