Above are brief account of the features and functions for the PCM9X.  Item select is through the use of the thumb roller on the right side of the screen, programming is done through the 4 soft keys on the left side of the screen (bottom most key currently unassigned).

A brief moment with the radio immediately showed the usual user friendly convention of all JR radios.  All functions are accessible and easily understood by simply looking at the screen, there are no second step hidden functions which you cannot see on the screen,

The radio weight is about the same as the X-3810 and the feel in your hand is about the same.  In order words, do not expect to get the sturdy 10X feel.  What really surprises us was that no TX battery is included in the package.  A AA cell battery clip is included where you have to fill it up with your own penlight batteries or an optional X3810 type battery will also work fine.

The R900S SPCM single conversion RX is advertised as a new RX employing new ABC&W technology which improves image rejection and inter-modulation interference rejection, whatever that is.......

Inspection on the electronics showed lots of manufacturing options.  We will explore those options as soon as time allows.

All in all, the PCM9X looks like a strong contender for the mid range radio market, as for reliability etc., only time can tell
